Hobbit Movie Wall Calendar

Are you ready to return to Middle Earth?

In December of 2012 the first of three movies was released featuring the story of J R R Tolkien’s fantasy fiction novel, The Hobbit. The first movie is entitled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Personally I liked the second one, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, a lot more than the first. Major Tolkien fans also loved The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which came out in 2014. Fans of the story and soon to be fans of the movies will love keeping their life organized with a Hobbit wall calendar which shows scenes and the characters of the film.

Tolkien Wall Calendar

Tove Jansson Official Tolkien Calendar

For the last 30 years the annual Tolkien calendar has been a publishing event that is eagerly awaited by the fans of Tolkien across the world. This years calendar has new artwork that covers the story of The Hobbit exclusively. Illustrated by a different classic illustrator each year. These annual calendars become collectors items each year after they are released to the public. Although these illustrations are not a part of the movie, they will make a nice companion piece to the collectors of Hobbit memorabilia. It would be my guess that some of the scenery and costumes were fashioned after these iconic illustrations, but I can’t guarantee that.

This standard wall calendar is center staple bound and measures 12 by 24 inches when hanging on your wall. Published by HarperCollins Publishers this calendar spans a 12 month period from January through December . Small grids allow for organizing your appointments and important dates for the year.

Illustrated with Middle Earth maps that feel as authentic as if Tolkien himself had drawn them.

A Little History Of The Story Of The Hobbit

First published in 1937, the fantasy fiction novel The Hobbit was written by J R R Tolkien and was a great success with the reading public. It remains a favorite of many adults and children alike and is now considered a classic children’s book.

The story is about Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit, who hopes to share in a treasure that is guarded by a dragon named Smaug. Bilbo travels from a friendly atmosphere into some pretty sinister places along his adventure while he meets some very interesting creatures. Using his wit and common sense Bilbo grows in his maturity, his wisdom of life, and his competence levels.

This story preceded the also popular novel “The Lord Of The Rings” which was requested by the publisher after the success of The Hobbit.
