Family planners come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. There are big organizers and pocket size planners. The best is the one that fits your life of course, but my favorite one is this one on the right. It’s a desk calendar that’s still small enough to fit into your purse and has 13 months worth of planning space (August 2011 through August 2012) .

The ‘day-at-a-view’ has space for organizing the life of 5 people: mom (or dad) and 4 kids. Includes a monthly planner for your family as well. Mothers, you’ll love to be able to keep up with everything without going crazy.

Embossing is possible in only one color, but two fonts. I think this makes a great personalized gift. It’s available in bright green and dark red.

This is one of the more affordable MomAgenda products, but still looks great.

2011-2012 Leather family organizer for the organized mom

It’s hard to find a good organizer. I’ve looked online and most come undated. But if you want to be an organized parent NOW you really do need a dated planner. After all – these things are supposed to be helping you get and stay organized. It’s not very practical to have to go in and fill in all the dates of the year manually. I know you mom’s and dad’s have enough on your minds without an extra chore!

What with your own schedule and that of your kids. Keeping track of ballet, play dates, music lessons and hockey practice is a job in itself – and all that on top of your own work.

So these luxury organizers for parents by momAgenda are of course DATED. They come in Grey, Green and Pink. The leather exterior will help keep this planner beautiful for years.

The planner has two pages for the whole week, which is the setup I prefer. That way you can take in your week in one glance.

If you already have one, you can of course get a refill. These Planners go by the calendar year, but during the rest 0f 2011 you’ll get the refill for 2011 AND 2012.

Anne Geddes cute family planner 2012

The planner I’ve featured below has a lot of space devoted to the week. Unfortunately this year there is no Anne Geddes special family date book that allows you to write down, for each family member in their own space, what they’re going to be doing. This is great for play dates and other activities that aren’t planned in advance. But what if your family is actually mostly busy with planned things like football practice or drama classes? In that case what you need isn’t room during the week, but merely space to write down the schedule. That’s what this planner does. It has a LOT of room for all kinds of notes: contacts of your kids, contacts of the family, there’s a babysitter page, room for scheduling etc. And as a result the weekly pages can be much smaller (which makes for a more handy smaller planner) – those will merely be used for the stuff that happens only once. Those pages do include space for notes if the blocks for the days aren’t large enough.

Best of all – it features baby pictures by the famous Anne Geddes :)
