Astrological calendars and daily horoscope planners 2017

For all astrology enthusiasts – or those who want to give a family member a spiritually inspired gift.

These calendars come with information on conjuncts and retrogrades. You will also find guides for your personal star sign – or one you love – for the whole year. A great spiritual gift or your personal guide to the year.

The Llewellyn’s Astrological Pocket Planner are unique because they are the only ones to feature three years of ephemeris and aspectarian data.

Suitable for both beginner and advanced astrologers this Astrological Planner will help you choose the best dates for every aspect of your business and personal life.

Most people interested in astrology have the need to know when Mercury goes retrograde, when the moon is full, what days are best for starting new things etc. The Llewellyn Astrological Pocket Planner does all that – while also functioning as the place to keep track of your plans, appointments, notes etc. While useful for astrological purposes, this planner is also a good date book. It has each week at a glance, which is really the format I like best.  Featuring three years of astrological ephemeris and aspectarian data (previous to next year – a total of 3 years), you’ll learn the best time to plant a garden, begin new projects, meditate, go fishing, and more – which most astrological planners don’t have. And of course all these include the astrological information you’d expect of Llewellyn. Unlike other astrological guides you can find, this planner is NOT based on your personal astrological sign of the zodiac. Instead it helps you by giving you information on the astrological tides that influence all of us: retrograde planets, how the moon influences our life and so on.

Short guide to astrology terminology

Astrology can be a bit daunting to the uninitiated. What follows are the terms used on this page that will help you understand it better.

Sun Sign – Your birth sign (aka star sign). That is: the time in the year you are born in determines what sun sign you are. The idea is that the sun is in a certain area in the sky at the time of your birth. Since it moves slowly, you share your sunsign with a lot of people.

The Sun Sign is what most people know about astrology. But there is a lot more to it.

Natal Chart – (or birth chart) this is a chart made by a competent astrologer. They will calculate the position of all the planets (including the moon) at your birth. Your Natal Chart is a circular graph in which angles between planets determine whether they combine well or not. See ‘aspects’ and ‘Opposition’.

Aspects – The angles with which planets combine in the natal chart are called aspects. They can have all kinds of impacts on your life, ranging from becoming famous, having a productive life, having a comfortable (but perhaps boring) life, to not being productive at all.

Opposition – When planets are opposite to each other on the birth chart, they are constantly fighting. That can bring a feeling of being out of balance, but it can also be a driving force.

Planets – Astrologers use the word ‘planet’ for all the heavenly bodies that are charted in the birth chart. That is: they include sun and moon as well. In fact sun and moon are the most important planets in the natal chart.
